SUBJECT / RECOMMENDATIONS
Approve Appointment of Mechanical/Plumbing/Fire Protection, Electrical and Roofing/Waterproofing Consulting Firms for Continuing Service Contracts
EXECUTIVE SUMMARY
Florida Statutes authorize continuing contracts for professional Mechanical/Plumbing/Fire Protection, Electrical and Roofing/Waterproofing services for projects for which construction costs do not exceed $2,000,000, and for study activities when the fee for such professional services does not exceed $200,000. The Board previously approved continuing contracts for Mechanical/Electrical Engineering services in 2012 for a maximum five-year term. New continuing contracts for Mechanical/Plumbing/Fire Protection, Electrical and Roofing/Waterproofing services are now required.

Florida Statutes and School Board policy outline the process and requirements for selection of professional service consultants.  Attachment A summarizes the process.  The process provides for the identification of the most highly qualified firms by a Professional Services Selection Committee that includes representatives from several District divisions and the community.  Attachment B identifies the specific committee members participating in this selection and the organization represented by each.

A total of 17 mechanical/plumbing/fire protection firms, 14 electrical firms and 11 roofing/waterproofing firms responded to the solicitation as shown in Attachment C.  Firms responding and the results of the evaluation by the Committee are recorded in Attachment D.  Subject to satisfactory performance, each contract shall extend for a maximum term of five years.
