Approve the Memorandum of Agreement Between the School Board of Hillsborough County and the Bullard Family Foundation as Partners to Make Improvements to Foster Elementary School and Sligh Middle Magnet School | |
EXECUTIVE SUMMARY | |
The Bullard Family Foundation has proposed partnering with the School Board of Hillsborough County to work together to transform underperforming spaces at Foster Elementary School and Sligh Middle Magnet School into vital health, wellness and learning spaces for school and community access. These spaces will be designed to make people feel welcome and comfortable and make learning activities available to participants of all ages. The Bullard Family Foundation is committed to bringing resources, in-kind support, and funding partnerships to the Sulphur Springs community where resources are limited. Improvements will be made to existing indoor and outdoor facilities on the Sligh Middle Magnet School campus through repairs, renovations and installation of materials supporting this transformational effort. Building 3, a free-standing building, will include a food pantry, dedicated space for consultation and wellness, financial, physical and mental health services. Building 10 will be improved to enhance technology and equipment for educational and demonstration purposes. The redesign will instill a sense of pride in those not only at Foster and Sligh Middle Magnet Schools, but will become a valued resource for the entire Sulphur Springs community. Both parties will agree on the improvements and funding prior to implementation and any proposed construction plans will be reviewed and permitted by the School Board's Florida Building Code Manager. |
