SUBJECT / RECOMMENDATIONS
Approve the Memorandum of Agreement (MOA) Between The School Board of Hillsborough County, Florida (HCPS) and Tampa Metropolitan Area YMCA Success After School (YMCA) for the Implementation and Operation of Before School, After School, and Summer Programs (Academic Support and Federal Programs)
EXECUTIVE SUMMARY
The purpose of the MOA is to establish an agreement between HCPS and YMCA concerning their respective roles and responsibilities.  The HCPS and YMCA have partnered to provide school-age care since 1981.  For 37 years, the strength of this collaboration has ensured quality care for students and families in our community.  This one-year MOA is in effect for the purpose of serving students from August 12, 2019, and, if necessary, through the summer 2020 programming.

The YMCA supports several projects within the district other than providing before, after, and summer school programs.  HCPS agrees to modify the standard rate calculated using the “Facilities Usage and Rental Fee Agreement.”
STRATEGIC OBJECTIVES
• Engage and communicate with families and stakeholders • Establish a strong foundation of financial stewardship • Demonstrate "best practices" in all aspects of safety: student, employee, visitor, facility, transportation, and health
FINANCIAL IMPACT (Budgeted:  Yes)
Fees paid by the YMCA to HCPS for use of school sites shall be used toward operation of the school facility.  The amount of $421,303.25 for the 2019/2020 school year is the total paid to HCPS from August 2019, through May 2020, equaling a full school year.
EVALUATION
An annual program review report for the 2018/2019 YMCA program will include results from student, parent, and principal surveys.
