SUBJECT / RECOMMENDATIONS
Approve the Agreement for Technical Services with Frameworks of Tampa Bay, Inc. (Frameworks) for Continued Services Associated with the Middle School Social and Emotional Learning (SEL) Project (Office of Teaching and Learning)
EXECUTIVE SUMMARY
On April 21, 2015, the Board approved a 4-year agreement with Frameworks to launch the Middle School SEL project. In 2016, the district was awarded a 3-year LifeSkills Training grant by the Center for the Study and Prevention of Violence, University of Colorado at Boulder which provided a curriculum to teach specific SEL skills, aligned with the Collaborative for Academic, Social, and Emotional Learning (CASEL) five-core competencies: Self-Awareness, Self-Management, Social Awareness, Relationship Skills, and Responsible Decision-Making.  Frameworks worked collaboratively with the Middle School SEL Coordinator and school staff to enhance program implementation throughout the grant cycle. The district has now been awarded a 3-year renewal for the LifeSkills Training grant effective for the 2019/2020 school year. This agreement extends our work with Frameworks to expand the Middle School SEL Project and includes services to enhance grant implementation through the coordination of fidelity observations beyond the scope of the grant and additional professional development. It also provides for an intensive tiered support at two middle schools which will be selected through a readiness assessment.  This Agreement for Technical Services can be canceled at any time with a 30-day notice.

Funds in the amount of $221,263 are available from Supplemental Academic Instruction funds. For tracking purposes, the project number specific to this agenda item is 4628.
