Approve the Agreement for Technical Services #0019185-ATS-IV with VYB Dance, LLC for Dance Instruction for the 2019/2020 School Year (Office of Teaching and Learning)
EXECUTIVE SUMMARY
VYB Dance, LLC will work collaboratively with Hillsborough County Public Schools to facilitate dance instruction for students at multiple school sites.  This instruction is in alignment with Physical Education dance curriculum.

Research shows that academic achievement is strongly linked to health.  Health-risk behaviors such as unhealthy eating and physical inactivity are consistently linked to poor grades, test scores, and lower educational attainment.  This project is designed to foster health and well-being in students by encouraging increased physical activity through dance.

Funds not to exceed the amount of $38,000 will be available through multiple sources.  Student Support and Academic Enrichment Grant and After School Program funds are contingent upon approval.
  • After School Program: $16,500 - Project 4302
  • Elementary Physical Education: $5,000 - Project 6060
  • Instructional Arts in Education: $10,500 - Project 6003
  • Student Support and Academic Enrichment Grant: $6,000 - Project 3743
EVALUATION
Evaluation of the project will be conducted through teacher survey to ensure quality and alignment to Florida and Next Generation Sunshine State Standards.  In addition, student reflections will be conducted where appropriate.
