B7.13 - Approve Guaranteed Maximum Price (GMP) for Referendum (Year Two) Project at Leto High School (Operations Division)

Description

On February 5, 2020, District staff selected Ranon & Partners, Inc. Architects and Wharton-Smith, Inc. to provide design and construction management services, respectively, through a selection committee.  Award was made based upon the score granted by the selection committee.  The project scope provides for a partial heating, ventilating and air conditioning (HVAC), roofing, fire alarm system, security system and public address system replacements at Leto High School.

Approval of the GMP will establish the cost of the project.

Project Substantial Completion is scheduled for July 21, 2021.

Expected Outcomes

Completion of a major mechanical, roofing and fire alarm, security and intercom systems resulting in energy-efficient HVAC systems, a water-tight and safe facility, thereby enhancing the student experience on campus to facilitate learning at Leto High School.

Recommendation

Approval of the GMP as prepared by Wharton-Smith, Inc., representing the design provided by Ranon & Partners, Inc. Architects.

Financial Impact

The GMP recommended for approval is $14,863,070, which is available in the Sales Tax Referendum fund.
