| Extend Agreement with Hillsborough County Lacrosse Alliance (HALAX) for 2017 Lacrosse Season (Student Services Division) | |
| EXECUTIVE SUMMARY | |
| On November 13, 2012, the Board approved a pilot program with HALAX to provide boys and girls lacrosse interscholastic competition at several high schools; competition began in January 2014. Currently the district has boys and girls lacrosse teams at Alonso, Bloomingdale, Durant, Freedom, Jefferson, Newsome, Plant, Robinson, Sickles, Steinbrenner, Tampa Bay Tech, and Wharton high schools. Per this agreement, HALAX provides equipment, supplies, and out-of-pocket expenses while the District provides custodial services, an administrator for the games, and utilities.
The pilot program concluded in June 2016. The Athletics Department and HALAX are requesting Board approval for a one-year extension to the current cooperative agreement. All terms and conditions set forth in the original contract will be extended through the end of the 2016/2017 school year. |
