Approve Subagreement #1777-1098-00-C with the University of South Florida (USF) for the Science, Technology, Engineering, Mathematics (STEM) Middle School Residency Program for the 2016/2017 School Year (Office of Teaching and Learning)
EXECUTIVE SUMMARY
The Helios Education Foundation awarded $2,736.000 to USF for the implementation of the STEM Middle School Residency Program. This program focuses on restructuring preservice mathematics and science education programs at USF to align with the district's way of work, including the teacher evaluation system and curricular expectations.

On July 14, 2015, Subagreement #1777-1098-00-B was approved by the School Board and signed by the dean of the USF College of Education. due to the continued growth of the program, USF is requesting to extend the position of a grant funded middle level educator position to serve as a "boundary crosser" between the USF College of Education and the district to assist in the seamless implementation of the program.

FINANCIAL IMPACT (Budgeted:  Yes)
Funding for the project is provided by the Helios Education Foundation as cost reimbursable not to exceed $95,171. USF is the fiscal agent and project funds reside at USF. The district will provide in-kind services in support of the project as outlined in the original agreement.
EVALUATION
Under the terms of the grant, USF is responsible for the project evaluation.
