SUBJECT / RECOMMENDATIONS
Approve the New Evaluation Rubric for Instructional Mentors
EXECUTIVE SUMMARY
The district transitioned from Peer Evaluators and Mentors to Instructional Mentors for the start of the 2016-2017 school year.  Therefore, a new rubric was created to provide district assigned Instructional Mentors with a tool to receive high quality feedback tied to their practice.  In collaboration with the Hillsborough Classroom Teachers Association (HCTA), an Instructional Mentor Rubric Committee of eight Instructional Mentors was established and met six times from September 2016 through January 2017.  The entire Instructional Mentor cadre had multiple opportunities to provide input and feedback throughout the development phase.  The rubric consists of components divided into four domains of professional practice.  Presented with this item is the new evaluation rubric for Instructional Mentors.
