SUBJECT / RECOMMENDATIONS
Approve the Statement of Work (SOW) for Technical Services with Asponte Technology, Inc. for WebSphere Upgrade (Information Technology)
EXECUTIVE SUMMARY
This SOW for Technical Services is necessary in order to bring the expertise of Asponte Technology, Inc. to work alongside our Information Technology staff in order to ensure the sustainment of the Education Connection Portal (EdConnect). EdConnect is the main gateway for accessibility by schools and district staff to online systems. WebSphere software is what is used to develop and operate EdConnect. The SOW includes services to upgrade the WebSphere Application Server and WebSphere Portal to the current version. The WebSphere Portal is an IBM enterprise software tool used to build and manage web portals and provides access to web content and applications. The WebSphere Portal package is a component of IBM WebSphere application software. A portion of the Teacher Incentive Fund (TIF) grant is specifically allocated for these services and must be used by September 30, 2017. This SOW is governed by the terms of the Master Services Agreement between the district and Asponte Technology, Inc. that was approved by the Board on April 21, 2015.

Funds in the amount of $129,355.00 will be available in the Teacher Incentive Fund (TIF) grant. For tracking purposes, the project number specific to this agenda item is 3205. As of Friday, April 28, 2017, the remaining balance less encumbrances for this line item equaled $129,355.00.
EVALUATION
Information Technology and Human Resources staff will evaluate the consulting agreement with Asponte Technology, Inc. based on the accuracy and timeliness of the deliverables as outlined in the Statement of Work. District staff monitors and reviews Asponte Technology's performance through status reports and discussions during weekly status meetings and project plan reviews.
