Approve Subagreement Between the University of South Florida (USF) for the College of Behavioral and Community Sciences and Hillsborough County Public Schools (HCPS) Early Childhood Learning (Academic Support and Federal Programs Division)
EXECUTIVE SUMMARY
The College of Behavioral and Community Sciences was awarded a two-year grant funded by the Institute of Education Sciences (IES) Program.  The goal of the project is to identify factors and resources that are likely to result in improvements in the implementation of a model of Multi-Tiered System of Supports (MTSS) in Early Childhood Learning. This model seeks to enhance children’s school readiness and create a seamless transition between prekindergarten and kindergarten. This is the second year of the two-year project.   The contract was reviewed and approved by the School Board Attorney on May 30, 2017.

Funding for this project is provided by IES.  USF is the grant’s fiscal agent and project funds reside at USF.  HCPS will receive a total of $186,249 for the two-year project, with $94,498 allocated for the performance period of July 1, 2017, to June 30, 2018, as outlined in the subagreement.  The total sum will be allocated for two HCPS positions: 7 percent full time equivalent for Tracye Brown and 100 percent full time equivalent for Nikki Sutton.
EVALUATION
Under the terms of the grant, USF is responsible for the project evaluation and all reporting as the fiscal agent for the grant.  USF will share all evaluation reporting with HCPS based on a mutually agreed upon timeline.
