SUBJECT / RECOMMENDATIONS
Approve Extension of Recommended Title as Flexibility Instructional Materials for Use in the District's ELEMENTARY SCIENCE Program (Elementary Education)
EXECUTIVE SUMMARY
The process for selection of flexibility instructional materials for the District's Elementary Science Program was completed according to district guidelines and the adoption was approved by the School Board on May 1, 2001. Liz Hunnicutt, Supervisor, Elementary Science, has recommended the allowable one-year extension of "Harcourt 2000 Science" for April 1, 2006, through June 7, 2007. By extending the current adoption we will be able to meet the growth needs currently at the elementary sites for the upcoming school year and allow for phase-in of newly adopted materials as funds are available.
ANNUAL DISTRICT GOAL(S) AND CRITICAL SUCCESS FACTOR(S)
Goal 3 - Student performance on FCAT Science will increase a minimum of 5 percentage points.
FINANCIAL IMPACT (Budgeted: Yes)
