EXECUTIVE SUMMARY
On January 17, 2006, the Board appointed Reynolds, Smith & Hills, Inc. and Christiano Construction Company, Inc. to provide design and construction management services. Each project consists of 24 new classrooms plus 2 student toilets, providing 600 additional student stations. The same design will be used for both schools. These additions are necessary to meet class size reduction requirements.
Approval of the guaranteed price will provide a maximum cost for the facilities. Project completion is scheduled for August 13, 2007.
ANNUAL DISTRICT GOAL(S) AND CRITICAL SUCCESS FACTOR(S)
FINANCIAL IMPACT (Budgeted: Yes)
Construction cost is warranted at $3,882,081 for Brandon High School and $3,574,049 for Durant High School. The construction budget for each school is $3,900,000. These items are included in the District Capital Outlay: Community Investment Tax 2006.
