Approve the Administrative Appointment of the Principal for Alternative Education West

This position is available due to the appointment of James Gatlin to the Principalship at Middleton High School effective August 10, 2005. Recommend that Theophilus Hill, currently Assistant Principal for Student Affairs at Durant High School, be appointed to the Principalship of Alternative Education West effective August 24, 2005.

Theophilus Hill began his teaching career with the School District of Hillsborough County on August 16, 1973 as a teacher at Tampa Bay Boulevard Elementary School. He continued in that position until August 15, 1974, when he transferred to a teaching position at Mann Junior High School. On August 20, 1985, he transferred to a teaching position at Tampa Bay Technical High School and continued in that position until he was appointed Assistant Principal for Student Affairs at Van Buren Middle School. On August 21, 1996, he was appointed Assistant Principal for Student Affairs at Hillsborough High School and continued in that position until July 13, 2004 when he was appointed Assistant Principal for Student Affairs at Durant High School. He is currently serving in this position.
