Approve Amendment to Contract LK663 with the Florida Department of Children and Families for Refugee Adult and Vocational Educational Services, Additional $172,603 (Adult and Community Education)
EXECUTIVE SUMMARY
The Florida Department of Children and Families Contract LK663 for the Career Recruitment and Instruction in Basic English (CARIBE) Program was approved by the School Board on July 26, 2005, in the amount of $1,700,000. This amendment will increase the contract by $172,603 based on increased enrollment and program participation for a new contract total of $1,872,603. Appropriate adjustments have been made to the budget to accommodate program needs.
The Hillsborough District CARIBE program is the model replicated in other districts to provide needed refugee educational services.

The increase of $172,603 in grant funds will be included in the divisional special revenue/federal funds budget, Project 1021. Indirect costs are included in the budget.
