The current bid for occupational/physical therapy services resulted in insufficient quantities of occupational/physical therapists to meet the needs of the Department of Exceptional Student Education. A contract was developed with Progressus Therapy, Independent Living Inc. and Therapy Dynamics for the period January 2, 2006, through June 30, 2006, so that services could begin immediately.

Funds of $406,000 are included in the Exceptional Student Education Department budget for Individuals with Disabilities Education Act (IDEA). Therapy services to be provided weekly: 40 hours physical therapists; 112 hours physical therapy assistants; and 75 hours occupational therapists.
