Approve the Cancellation of the Contract Between the School District of Hillsborough County School Readiness Programs and Louise Reaves Family Child Care Home, Effective January 1, 2006 (Student Services and Federal Programs Division)

The term of the contract with Louise Reaves Family Child Care Home is July 1, 2005 through June 30, 2006, with an original contract amount of $45,600. This contract is cancelled effective January 1, 2006, due to the provider closing said facility and relocating to California.

Goal 5 - The district will eliminate the FCAT achievement gap by a minimum of 10 percentage points as reported by No Child Left Behind.

The total funding of $45,600 was to be used to provide education and care for approximately 10 children from eligible income families at the average annual rate of $3,800 per child. The federal-state grant funds are channeled to the district from the Florida Office of Early Learning and the Early Learning Coalition of Hillsborough County. The reimbursement to the provider for child care services for the first six months of the contract is approximately $15,200. The remaining contract balance of $30,400 will be made available to providers assuming the care of school readiness children formerly enrolled at Louise Reaves Family Child Care Home. All funds are generated by Part 4 dollars.
