Approve Agreement for Technical Services with Professional Development for Achievement, Inc. (Student Services and Federal Programs Division)
EXECUTIVE SUMMARY
Shaw Elementary teachers and students need additional support in writing. The provider will train teachers and work with students on FCAT writing strategies. The strategies are based on the sunshine standards, district benchmarks, and kindergarten through 4th grade expectations. The provider will also model and coach teachers.
ANNUAL DISTRICT GOAL(S) AND CRITICAL SUCCESS FACTOR(S)
Goal 4 - The percentage of students achieving a score of 4.0 or higher on FCAT writing will increase a minimum of 5 percentage points.
FINANCIAL IMPACT (Budgeted: Yes)
Funds in the amount of $7,000.00 are included in the district's Title 1 budget, Project 1095.
EVALUATION
The anticipated date of evaluation is May 1, 2006. At that time, teachers and administrators at Shaw Elementary will evaluate the effectiveness of the services delivered by Professional Development for Achievement, Inc. via a survey. The results of this survey will be shared with the provider to communicate strengths and weaknesses of the services delivered so that modifications can be made before future contracts are considered
