Approve the Agreement for Technical Services for Solution Tree, LLC., Who Will Provide Professional Development Training for Administrators and Key Teacher Leaders in Title I Schools (Student Services and Federal Programs Division)

Solution Tree, LLC. will provide a two-day workshop on "Professional Learning Communities at Work". This workshop is designed to support the implementation of Professional Learning Communities by providing administrators and key teacher leaders with the knowledge, tools, and skills to effectively coach their schools and staff through the change process. The specific objectives for this training are as follows: (1) to understand the concept and the attributes of a professional learning community, (2) to create a collaborative culture for teaching and learning, and (3) to build a professional learning community in a school with a tradition of non-exemplary achievement. The information gained through this workshop will help enable schools to design a plan of action for implementing professional learning communities at their school site. These learning communities will actively engage in conversations to study more effective learning and teaching practices for the purpose of increasing student achievement.

Goal 5 - The district will eliminate the Florida Comprehensive Assessment Test (FCAT) achievement gap by a minimum of 10 percentage as reported by No Child Left Behind.

The amount of $8,204.00 will be paid using Title I funds.

ANTICIPATED: By July 12, 2006, all participants will complete and opinionnaire designed to measure the quality of the course provided by Solution Tree, LLC.
