SUBJECT / RECOMMENDATIONS

Approve the Contract for Full Service Schools Between the School District of Hillsborough County and the State of Florida, Department of Health (Student Services & Federal Programs Division)

EXECUTIVE SUMMARY

This contract renewal is in effect July 1, 2006, through June 30, 2007. The dollar amount reflects no change in funding since 1994. This is a performance-based contract. The money expands health and social services at designated full service school sites. This is an annual renewal for flow-through funds from the Hillsborough County Health Department. The money provides registered nurses and staff for the full service centers at Just and Kimbell.

ANNUAL DISTRICT GOAL(S) AND CRITICAL SUCCESS FACTOR(S)

Goal 5 – The District will eliminate the FCAT achievement gap by a minimum of 10 percentage points as reported by No Child Left Behind.

FINANCIAL IMPACT (Budgeted: Yes)

$440,189.00 – Funds are provided by the Legislature from general revenue and Temporary Assistance for Needy Families (TANF) federal dollars in a specific line item for Full Service Schools. This contract is subject to availability of funds.

EVALUATION

Annual reports are submitted to the Department of Health. These reports contain data regarding student, parent and school district employee encounters.
