SUBJECT / RECOMMENDATIONS
Resolution: Brown vs. Board of Education anniversary
EXECUTIVE SUMMARY
The School Board of Hillsborough County is totally committed to the success of every student. That will never change. The evidence that this commitment is working is available in the results. Academic achievement among all students is rising rapidly. But, more significantly, the achievement of disadvantaged minority groups is rising faster than the results for the whole group. The Brown vs. Board of Education decision May 17, 1954, allowed public schools to pave the way for all students, regardless of their race, to receive a high quality education. The Hillsborough County School Board will continue to work with the Hillsborough County Branch NAACP assure our progress continues.
