EXECUTIVE SUMMARY
This project was planned by the architectural firm of Rowe Architects Inc. On March 12, 2002, the Board appointed the construction management firm of Allstate Construction. The scope of work included repair and limited replacement of certain roof angles and gutters, replacement of windows in Buildings 3-9, and repair of windows in Buildings 1-2. All doors and frames in Building 2 will be replaced. Campus-wide door hardware will be adjusted and made operable. Existing hot water heating system will be removed and replaced with electric heating, and air conditioning units will be replaced in Buildings 1-9. The domestic water system will be replaced from the street connection to all fixture connections. Existing toilet rooms will be modified to meet handicap accessibility requirements. The electrical distribution system will be replaced and outlets added to classrooms. Parking lot lighting will be added and lighting will be replaced in Building 2 and Buildings 3-9. Floor finishes will be replaced in Building 1 and Buildings 3-9. Stage floor will be repaired and refinished. The interior and exterior of the facility will be repainted. New fire alarm, intercom, educational television, and telephone systems will be provided. New signage will be provided campus-wide. The parking lot will be modified and expanded to better accommodate parent pickup. Interior courtyards will be regraded for better drainage. New construction will consist of a new media center and 12 classrooms.
This change order provides for additional library shelving and data system testing, fencing, wall tile patching, new heating system in cafeteria, heating support in the electrical wiring in the cafeteria, replacement of existing air conditioning unit trim in classrooms due to water and termite damage, intercom system and window blinds in the cafeteria, and miscellaneous electrical wiring and devices.
