Approve the Technical Service Agreement with Dr. Lloyd Zimet for the Development of a Comprehensive Plan for the Center for Disease Control (CDC) HIV Prevention Education Grant which will be used Specifically for the Interpretation and Utilization of Youth Risk Behavior Survey (YRBS) Data (Student Services & Federal Programs Division)

For the past several years, Dr. Zimet has acted as a consultant to the CDC/HIV Prevention Education Grant in the capacity of Program Planner. He is primarily responsible for the Youth Risk Behavior Survey (YRBS) results (available on June 8, 2006). The YRBS results are used for planning HIV classes for students, as well as presentations of the findings for our partnering agencies and other organizations. Dr. Zimet will also be responsible for utilizing YRBS data to create frameworks, logic models, and behavioral objectives. The outcome of this work will develop educational interventions to reduce health risk behaviors (i.e. unintended pregnancy, contracting HIV, and other sexually transmitted diseases).

Goal 5 – The District will eliminate the Florida Comprehensive Assessment Test (FCAT) achievement gap by a minimum of 10 percentage points as reported by No Child Left Behind.

The $13,000 for this technical agreement are funded by the Centers for Disease Control (CDC) HIV Education Prevention Grant.

Evaluation occurs annually through site visits from CDC Program Managers and completion of CDC prescribed indicators of success.
