EXECUTIVE SUMMARY

The Summer Diversion and Prevention Program at Muller Elementary School is funded through the Florida Department of Juvenile Justice through subcontract agreements with the University Area Community Development Center and the School District of Hillsborough County. The current Contract #X1317 amendment was approved by the School Board on December 13, 2005, to broaden the eligibility criteria for student participants in the program.

A Settlement Agreement has been developed whereby the School District will be reimbursed $115,653 for program operation expenses for the period July 1, 2005, through February 28, 2006, based on the amended eligibility criteria. The amended Contract #X1317 will then reimburse program expenses from March 1 through June 30, 2006. The Settlement Agreement document is necessary to meet the audit requirements of the Florida Department of Juvenile Justice.

The Muller Program meets the needs for a supervised and safe educational and recreational environment with a program focus on improving academic performance.
