SUBJECT / RECOMMENDATIONS

Approve Amendments to Contracts with the State of Florida Department of Highway Safety and Motor Vehicles for Motorcycle Safety Training Program, 2006-2007 (Adult and Community Education)

EXECUTIVE SUMMARY

On May 2, 2006, the School Board approved renewal contracts with the State of Florida Department of Highway Safety and Motor Vehicles to continue the Motorcycle Training Programs at Armwood and Chamberlain High Schools.

Florida Statute 215.97, the Florida Single Audit Act, has now been enacted that establishes state audit and accountability requirements for state financial assistance provided to non-state entities. Amendments to the contracts have been prepared for the Armwood and Chamberlain motorcycle training programs that incorporates F.S.215.97 into the current contracts.

FINANCIAL IMPACT (Budgeted: Yes)

Classes are self-sustaining from fees paid by adult students that cover all direct and indirect expenses. There is no additional cost to the District.
