APPROVAL OF CHANGE ORDER NO. 2 (CLASSROOMS FOR KIDS) - $394,383.15 CREDIT

EXECUTIVE SUMMARY

These projects are being planned by the architectural firm of Carruthers & Associates. On January 13, 2004, the Board appointed the construction management firm of Christiano Construction Company, Inc. The scope of renovation includes new carpet, VCT flooring, acoustical ceilings, and intercom, fire alarm, telephone, data, security, CCTV, and master key systems. It also provides for replacement of lighting fixtures, door hardware, and HVAC system, painting, roofing, ADA improvements, casework refurbishment, and miscellaneous deep cleaning, sealant, drainage and minor repair work. In addition, 12 primary classrooms will be added to meet class size reduction requirements.

Change Order 2 for the renovation project provides a credit for the direct purchase of materials by the District. It also provides for testing of chilled water loop piping, new flooring, relocation of a Kindergarten classroom and window revisions. Change Order 2 for the Classrooms for Kids addition provides a credit for direct purchase of materials by the District.
