Approve the Administrative Appointment of the General Director, Exceptional Student Education

To provide an effective transition and ensure maximum achievement in the School District the appointment of General Director, Exceptional Student Education is recommended to be effective June 26, 2006. Edward McDowell, presently General Director, Exceptional Student Education, has indicated that he will be retiring on July 31, 2006.

The recommended individual will serve as General Director, Exceptional Student Education designee during the transition from Mr. McDowell to maximize the transfer of knowledge and permit a smooth transition as the appointee assumes the duties of general oversight of the Exceptional Student Education programs.

There is no additional cost to the district. Funds for this position are included in the Individuals with Disabilities Education Act, Project 1031.
