Approve Renewal Contract with West Coast Officials Association, Inc. for Athletic Contests, 2006/2007 (Curriculum and Instruction Division)

This is a negotiated agreement with the local officials’ association for the purpose of providing varsity and junior varsity football, basketball, and flag football officials for scheduled high school and middle school contests. Officiating fees were increased $2 per official/per game due to increased fuel costs and the addition of two senior high schools and one middle school.

The contract amount of $186,682 is included in the Division of Curriculum and Instruction Athletics Department budget. The increase of $17,449 from last year’s contract is attributed to the increase of travel fees of $2 per official/per game due to increased fuel costs and the addition of two new senior high schools. The cost increase has been covered within the athletic budget.
