EXECUTIVE SUMMARY

The attached represents a listing of professional staff members in our school district who will plan, conduct and follow-up new teacher induction training. It is requested that we pay these 71 trainers on a payroll after the training is complete. These instructors will conduct the summer training from July 18-21, 2006, and then conduct follow-up sessions each month with the same group of teachers. The induction session in the summer will include classroom management and ethics. The follow-up sessions will include instructional practices, parent communication and building community in the classroom. This list represents approximately 3,900 hours of training for approximately 1,800 new teachers at a cost of $153,806.40. The total number of instructors to be hired by the date of the actual event is not known at this time, permission is requested to delete or add instructors' names as needed.
