This project was planned by the architectural firm of Long & Associates, Inc. On November 18, 2003, the Board appointed the construction management firm of Hardin Construction. This new facility is located in the New Tampa area and is a reuse of the Shields Middle School design. Relief will be provided for Benito and Liberty Middle Schools.

Change Order No. 5 provides for parking lot revisions, classroom locksets, labor and materials, and additional duct heater for kitchen as required by the Department of Education and described in Addendum No. 2. Change Order No. 6 provides for materials testing and additional handicap parking space and sidewalk as described in Addendum No. 3. A credit is included for crushed concrete for the light pole bases in lieu of concrete. The pricing for the addendums was received after the Guaranteed Maximum Price was established. Change Order No. 7 provides for bleachers and a connecting sidewalk from the park to the bleacher area.

Critical Success Factor 6.a.8 - Provide sufficient student stations to ensure uninterrupted student learning and data gathering as measured by District Operational Goals plan.
