First Public Hearing on the Millage Rates and Tentative Budget for Fiscal Year 2006-07

The following action is recommended:
  1. Adopt the 2006-2007 millage rates as presented.
  2. Adopt the FY 2006-2007 Tentative Budget.
  3. Approve the Resolution adopting the Budget.
  4. Approve the Policies and Procedures for Lottery funds.
  5. Authorize staff to perform all tasks to ensure compliance with F.S. 200.065 (TRIM).
  6. Announce that the Final Public Hearing will be held Thursday, September 7, 2006, at 5:01 PM at 901 E. Kennedy Boulevard, Raymond O. Shelton School Administrative Center (ROSSAC).

EXECUTIVE SUMMARY

On July 11, 2006, the School Board approved the advertisement of the FY 2006-2007 proposed millage rates and tentative budget on Saturday, July 22nd, in the Tampa Tribune.

In accordance with the Truth in Millage (TRIM) requirements, the School Board must hold a public hearing within five (5) days of the advertisement to discuss the following items and allow for any public discussion.

The proposed millage rate is 7.8230, the maximum rate allowed by law.

ANNUAL DISTRICT GOAL(S) AND CRITICAL SUCCESS FACTOR(S)

This action is required to comply with the Truth in Millage (TRIM) requirements of Section 200.065, Florida Statutes.

FINANCIAL IMPACT (Budgeted: Yes)

The fiscal year 2006-2007 millage rates and tentative budget will be established.
