EXECUTIVE SUMMARY
In order to meet the state mandates for class size reduction at the critically overcrowded Alonso High School, it was necessary to expedite the design and construction of 24 additional classrooms. These new facilities were identified in the Classrooms for Kids (CFK) authorization. On April 6, 2004, the Board approved the amendment of existing agreements with Holmes, Hepner and Associates Architects and R. J. Bunbury Company which permitted the reproduction of the prototypical design used for the classroom additions at Armwood, Bloomingdale, Durant, Gaither, Plant City, Riverview, Sickles and Wharton High Schools. The scope of work provided for construction of 24 additional classrooms.
This change order provides a credit for the return of unused contingency funds. The architect advises that the referenced project is finally complete in accordance with the plans and specifications and other contract documents and recommends Board acceptance.
