EXECUTIVE SUMMARY

On September 7, 2004, the Board appointed Atelier AEC and Christiano Construction Company to provide design and construction management services for classroom additions at Brooker, Temple Terrace and Yates Elementary Schools, and Burns Middle School. On March 14, 2005, additions at Tampa Palms and Chiles Elementary Schools were added to the package. These additions are necessary to meet class size reduction requirements. The scope of work provides for the following additions: 18 classrooms at Brooker, 8 classrooms at Chiles (will be increased to 16), 12 classrooms at Tampa Palms, 14 classrooms at Temple Terrace, 12 classrooms at Yates, and 12 classrooms plus group toilets at Burns.

Change Order No. 6 provides a credit for deletion of remaining balance for Chiles Elementary School from the Guaranteed Maximum Price. Chiles Elementary School is being handled separately due to change in scope to 16 classrooms. Change Order No. 7 provides a credit for the direct purchase of materials by the District.

Goal 6 - All schools in the district will be assigned a state grade of A, B, or C.

These items are included in the District Capital Outlay: Classrooms for Kids (Brooker, Temple Terrace, and Yates Elementary Schools and Burns Middle School) and Public Education Capital Outlay (PECO) Construction (Chiles and Tampa Palms Elementary Schools).
