Approve Renewal Contract with Hillsborough County Umpires Association for Athletic Contests, 2006/2007 - $29,235 (Curriculum and Instruction Division)
EXECUTIVE SUMMARY
Each year the School District negotiates a contract with Hillsborough County Umpires Association for the purpose of providing softball umpires for scheduled high school contests. The renewal contract includes the addition of two new high schools and increased fees of $2 per official/per game for travel expenses due to increased fuel costs.
Professional athletic officials ensure unbiased and fair officiating at athletic events.

FINANCIAL IMPACT (Budgeted: Yes)
The contract amount of $29,235 includes the addition of two new high schools and officiating fee increases of $2 per official/per game for a total increase of $2,940 over last year’s contract. The $29,235 contract cost is included in the general fund budget for the Division of Curriculum and Instruction Athletics Department. There is no additional cost to the District.
