EXECUTIVE SUMMARY
The Darrell Gwynn Foundation is a 501C.3 organization with a goal to prevent and ultimately cure spinal cord injuries with special emphasis on educational programs targeting high school students. Darrell Gwynn Foundation speakers will visit 3 high schools in Miami-Dade, Broward, Palm Beach, Orange, Hillsborough, and Duval counties. The speakers will present spinal cord injury awareness training to the Health Science and Drivers Education students at Alonso, Bloomingdale, and Tampa Bay Technical High Schools. Schools were selected based on the current program offerings in health science and driver education.
Designating November 13-19, 2006, Spinal Cord Injury Awareness Week will increase awareness of the causes of spinal cord injury and reduce the number of individuals that are paralyzed each year in Florida.
