Approve Consultant Agreement with Dr. Karen Mumford to Carry Out the Duties Associated with the Choice Mentor Grant and Federal Choice Grant Evaluations (Information and Technology Division)

The consultant will continue the Choice Mentor Grant and Federal Choice Grant Evaluation to fulfill State and Federal requirements. The choice program is designed to provide options to parents concerning their child's education. The program can impact all schools and all students. The evaluation will include, but is not limited to, collecting, analyzing and preparing data for reports; preparing Choice Mentor Report and Choice Federal Status Report (November); communicating with COSMOS Corporation (the national evaluation agency for the Federal government); preparing data for COSMOS study; preparing annual reports for the State Mentoring and Choice Federal Grants; submitting reports to the Department of Assessment and Accountability for dissemination to stakeholders.

Goal 5: The District will close the FCAT achievement gap by a minimum of 10% as reported by NCLB. CSF-5c: Design and implement program scheduling to meet the Remediation and enrichment needs of students.

Total Budget is $3,783,540.31, for the Choice Project Year 5 budget period of May 1, 2006-September 30, 2007. The evaluation budget is $30,000, of which $25,000 is funded for this contract.

The final reporting of data gathered and analyzed will be June 30, 2007.
