Approve the Contracts Between the Hillsborough County Public Schools – Early Childhood School Readiness Programs and Seven (7) School Readiness Child Care and Early Education Providers Effective January 1, 2007 (Student Services and Federal Programs Division)
The school readiness child care providers (centers and homes – see attached list) will deliver child care and early education services to children of eligible low-income families residing in Hillsborough County. The contracts begin January 1, 2007 and continue through June 30, 2007.
ANNUAL DISTRICT GOAL(S) AND CRITICAL SUCCESS FACTOR(S)
Goal 5 - The district will eliminate the Florida Comprehensive Assessment Test (FCAT) achievement gap by a minimum of 10 percentage points as reported by No Child Left Behind.
FINANCIAL IMPACT (Budgeted: Yes)
The total of $969,000 ($1,900 average six-month cost per child) is expended for school readiness services at these contracted sites for approximately 510 children of the total 10,334 children served at various private child care sites throughout the county. All of the funds are allocated by the Agency for Workforce Innovation Office of Early Learning to the Hillsborough County School Readiness Coalition, Inc. and, by virtue of a contract, to the Hillsborough County Public Schools – Early Childhood School Readiness Programs.
These contracts are reflected in the year-end financial statements which are audited annually by the Hillsborough County School Readiness Coalition, Inc. as prescribed by law. The Board will receive the audit reports when they are completed. The time of completion may vary based upon the activities of the auditors.
