Approve the Evaluation of the Contract Between Hillsborough County School Readiness Coalition, Inc., Doing Business as Early Learning Coalition of Hillsborough County and Hillsborough County Public Schools, Early Childhood School Readiness Programs (Student Services and Federal Programs Division)

EXECUTIVE SUMMARY

The contract for emergency child care financial assistance for foster parents was approved by the School Board on February 7, 2006, Agenda Item 5.07 Section E. The 2005-2006 evaluation report is attached.

ANNUAL DISTRICT GOAL(S) AND CRITICAL SUCCESS FACTOR(S)

Goal 5 – The District will eliminate the Florida Comprehensive Assessment Test (FCAT) achievement gap by a minimum of 10 percentage points as reported by No Child Left Behind.

FINANCIAL IMPACT (Budgeted: Yes)

The total funding of $10,000 was disbursed between emergency child care assistance for children in foster care and the September 2006 six percent (6%) match for the working poor category of the subsidized child care program, as authorized by the funder. The county funds are channeled to the Hillsborough County Public Schools, School Readiness Programs from the Children’s Board of Hillsborough County and the Hillsborough County School Readiness Coalition, Inc., doing business as the Early Learning Coalition of Hillsborough County. No district funds were a part of this contract.
