Recommend that the Board Designate the Week of February 5-9, 2007 as Student Services Week in Hillsborough County (Student Services and Federal Programs Division)

The week of February 5-9, 2007, is Student Services Week in the state of Florida as declared by Dr. Cheri Pierson Yecke, K-12 Chancellor, Florida Department of Education. Student Services includes both the Department of Guidance Services and the Department of Student Support Services. This action will acknowledge the important role that guidance and career personnel, psychologists, social workers, diagnosticians, nurses, and health assistants play in the academic, social, emotional development and health of student in our district.

Goal 5 - The district will eliminate the Florida Comprehensive Assessment Test (FCAT) achievement gap by a minimum of 10 percentage points as reported by No Child Left Behind.

There is no additional cost to the district.
