NEW FACILITY
APPROVAL OF CONSTRUCTION DOCUMENTS AND GUARANTEED MAXIMUM PRICE

EXECUTIVE SUMMARY

On January 17, 2006, the Board appointed The Architectural Practice, Inc. and Ellis Construction Company, Inc. to provide design and construction management services. This new facility is a reuse of the Collins Elementary School design. As of the current boundaries, relief will be provided for Bryant Elementary School.

Approval of the guaranteed price will provide a maximum cost for the facility. Project completion is scheduled for July 31, 2007.

ANNUAL DISTRICT GOAL(S) AND CRITICAL SUCCESS FACTOR(S)

Goal 6 - All schools in the district will be assigned a state grade of A, B, or C.

FINANCIAL IMPACT (Budgeted: Yes)

Construction cost is warranted at $13,003,371. The construction budget is $13,810,407. This item is included in the District Capital Outlay: Certificates of Participation Series 2004C, Classrooms for Kids 2005, Community Investment Tax, and School Infrastructure Thrift Award.
