SUBJECT / RECOMMENDATIONS

Approve the Technical Services Agreement for Kagan Professional Development Group Who Will Provide Professional Development Training for Teachers in Title I Schools (Student Services and Federal Programs Division)

EXECUTIVE SUMMARY

Kagan Professional Development will provide a workshop titled Win-Win Discipline. In this workshop, teachers will learn to solve daily discipline problems, including promoting responsibility among students. Teachers will learn why their students misbehave and how to respond appropriately to disengaged, disruptive or overly active students. In addition, participants will learn nonverbal, verbal and action strategies for intervening with each type of disruption. This workshop is available to any teacher (K-12) who is currently working at a Title I school.

ANNUAL DISTRICT GOAL(S) AND CRITICAL SUCCESS FACTOR(S)

Goal 5- The District will eliminate the Florida Comprehensive Assessment (FCAT) Test achievement gap by a minimum of 10 percentage points as reported by No Child Left Behind.

FINANCIAL IMPACT (Budgeted: Yes)

The total amount of $12,070.00 will be paid using Title I funds.

EVALUATION

Anticipated: By June 30, 2007, all participants will complete an opinionnaire designed to measure the quality of professional development provided by Kagan Professional Development Group.
