Reporting Dates for Personnel for Opening New Schools – August 2007

We currently plan to open three new elementary schools for the 2007-08 school year. To properly staff these schools, we recommend that the appropriate school personnel report early as indicated in the attachments. This schedule follows the same procedure we have utilized in previous years for opening new schools and assures that we will have staff in place for developing curriculum, enrolling and scheduling students, selecting personnel and staff, ordering furniture and equipment, and organizing PTA Executive Boards, and School Advisory Council plans, etc.

$321,279.46 is currently budgeted in the 2006-2007 operating budget. This impact was projected last spring and placed in the salary budget for this school year. Projected impact for the 2007-2008 school year is $135,111.64 and this will be placed in the salary account for the operating budget for the next school year.
