This project was planned by the architectural firm of Rowe Architects. On June 7, 2005, the Board appointed the construction management firm of Mathews Construction. This new facility will relieve overcrowding at Summerfield and Collins Elementary Schools.

This change order provides for additional work as required by the Department of Education and District Safety Office to conform with new code requirements. Issues included are location of strobes requiring additional electrical costs, 15 CFM outside air requiring additional air conditioning costs and changing code analysis requiring each building to be separated by 4 hour firewalls. A time extension is included for completion of the work.

This item is included in the District Capital Outlay: Certificates of Participation Series 04C, Classrooms for Kids, Community Investment Tax, and School Infrastructure Thrift Award.
