Recognition of Award Winners Sponsored by Hillsborough Elementary Mathematics Council
EXECUTIVE SUMMARY
The Hillsborough County Elementary Mathematics Council is an organization that promotes mathematics throughout the county. This year, the Mathematics Council achieved many accomplishments. We hosted several events throughout the school year with record school attendance. Some of the events were Math Bowl, Baseball TiVitz, Math at the Mall, dinner meetings, grants, SHAPES Awards, and National Council of Teachers of Mathematics Conference attendance and the Rita Dugan Memorial Award in honor of Rita Dugan, Elementary Mathematics Administrative Resource Teacher, who passed away on March 8, 2003, after a battle with cancer. The support we received at the events from schools, teachers, students, parents, and district supervisors was phenomenal. The Council members are excited about the successes at the events and would like to showcase the winners as shown on the attached list.
