SUBJECT / RECOMMENDATIONS
EXECUTIVE SUMMARY
District staff has been working with the Tampa Housing Authority, the City of Tampa, and the Bank of America on a redevelopment plan for the Central Park Village (CPV) community. Central Park Village is a proposed mixed use/mixed income community and is intended to revitalize this downtown neighborhood. Meacham Alternative School falls within the boundaries of the CPV project. Previous actions of the School Board related to the Meacham and CPV project were as follows:
In summary, the Purchase and Sale Agreement and the Interlocal Agreement (Land Exchange) contained in this board item, are both contingent upon simultaneous closings between the School Board and Tampa Housing Authority on or before October 31, 2007. At closing, the Board will convey the Meacham Alternative School site to the Tampa Housing Authority and will receive $1,269,000 and 2.2 +/- acres of land in exchange.
The Purchase and Sale Agreement and Interlocal Agreement have been reviewed by the School Board Attorney as to form and sufficiency.
ANNUAL DISTRICT GOAL(S) AND CRITICAL SUCCESS FACTOR(S)
Provide adequate school facilities for the accomplishment of all District Goals and Critical Success Factors.
FINANCIAL IMPACT (Budgeted: No)
These funds will be receipted to Land Proceeds and the two acre parcel located at Scott and Governor Streets will be placed in land inventory for a future school site.
