SUBJECT / RECOMMENDATIONS
EXECUTIVE SUMMARY
This project is being planned by the engineering firm of Carastro & Associates, Inc. The scope of work provides for demolition and replacement of the softball field lighting system. The project was advertised and bids received (see attachment). The low bidder, Riley Electric Company, Inc, is recommended. Project completion is scheduled for August 23, 2007.
The solicitation allowed bidders to include a deductive alternate to their bid for a substitute pole type proposed by the bidders. In consideration of the significant cost savings associated with acceptance of the alternate pole design, staff concurs with the engineer's recommendation to accept the deductive alternate.
