REPLACEMENT OF FIRE ALARM AND/OR INTERCOM SYSTEMS AT VARIOUS SCHOOLS
AWARD OF CONTRACT
EXECUTIVE SUMMARY
This project is being planned by the engineering firm of KBA Engineering, Inc. The scope of work provides for replacement of the fire alarm and intercom systems at Bing and Hunter's Green Elementary Schools, Lincoln Magnet Elementary School, and Stewart Middle School, replacement of the intercom system at Robinson Elementary School, and replacement of the fire alarm system at Durant High School. The project was advertised and bids received (see attachment). The low bidder, Alarm & Communications Systems, Inc., is recommended. Project completion is scheduled for September 1, 2007. Provisions have been made for continuity of service of critical system functions during the project. The completed systems will be warranted for a period of five years.

Provide adequate school facilities for the accomplishment of all District Goals and Critical Success Factors.
FINANCIAL IMPACT (Budgeted: Yes)
Total funds in the amount of $1,256,070 are included in the District Capital Outlay: 2 Mill. The contract amount being awarded is $1,256,070.
