Cancel Contract with School Readiness Programs and Family Child Care Home Cynthia Williams, Effective June 1, 2007 (Student Services and Federal Programs Division)

The contract with Family Child Care Home Cynthia Williams was approved on June 13, 2006, Agenda Item E5.15 for the provision of child care and early education services for children of income eligible families is being cancelled in response to notification by the owner that the facility is to be closed effective April 1, 2007. The term of the contract was July 1, 2006, through June 30, 2007.

Goal 5 – The District will eliminate the Florida Comprehensive Assessment Test (FCAT) achievement gap by a minimum of 10 percentage points as reported by No Child Left Behind.

The total funding of $38,000 was to be used to provide education and care for approximately 10 eligible children of low-income families at the annual rate of $3,800 per child. The federal/state grant funds are channeled to the district from the Florida Office of Early Learning and the Hillsborough County School Readiness Coalition d/b/a Early Learning Coalition of Hillsborough County. Due to the facility being closed and thereby effectuating cancellation of the contract, the remaining funding of $31,597.53 will be made available to other providers assuming that there will be children enrolled at the time of the closure of Family Child Care Home Cynthia Williams.

No evaluation will be conducted due to this action being a contract cancellation.
