Approve Agreement for Technical Services with Jennifer Morley, Ph.D. - $8,395 (Curriculum and Instruction Division)
EXECUTIVE SUMMARY
We are requesting approval of an Agreement for Technical Services with Jennifer Morley, Ph.D., to organize and oversee activities and programs scheduled between May 30, 2007, and August 30, 2007.
The consultant will coordinate all aspects of the following activities and the programs which focus on eliminating the achievement and advantage gaps for low socio-economic and diverse populations.
- Staff development for the conversion from block (90 minutes) to traditional school periods (50 minutes).
- Changing demographics of the Advanced Placement population.
- Curriculum and examination revision.
- Extended School Year programs – GAP 1 at 25 high schools, GEARUP site summer programs, ANYTOWN, and USF Residential Programs.
ANNUAL DISTRICT GOAL(S) AND CRITICAL SUCCESS FACTOR(S)
Goal 5 - The District will eliminate the achievement gap by a minimum of 10 percentage points as reported by No Child Left Behind.
FINANCIAL IMPACT (Budgeted: Yes)
Funds of $8,395 are available through the Hillsborough Advanced Placement Incentive Grant, Project 1025.
EVALUATION
An evaluation of the programs will be completed by September 30, 2007. Expansion of the programs and revision of the courses offered will be considered upon review of the evaluation data.
