Approve Use of School Bus (School Board Vehicle) and Driver by University of South Florida for USF Gear Up II
EXECUTIVE SUMMARY
Each summer, USF Gear Up requests school bus transportation to support their program. Gear Up helps provide academic and social supports for low-income, minority students who are at risk of dropping out of school. In their fifth year of grant implementation, the goal is to prepare students for graduation and placement into vocational/technical school; two-year or four-year colleges or the work force. The program begins on June 4, 2007 through Friday, June 29, 2007. Approximately 50 students will be provided transportation from designated pick up points to Hillsborough High School.

FINANCIAL IMPACT (Budgeted: No)
There is no financial impact to the District. USF Gear Up II agrees to pay for costs of transportation at the rate of $30.00 per hour and $1.75 per mile.
